Boise Ecstatic Dance
Since 2021, our main offering is a weekly Wednesday, accessible, sober, all-ages dance. All are welcome!
What is Ecstatic Dance?
Ecstatic Dance is a communal, free-form, conscious movement practice. Just imagine what happens when you're all alone and start bopping to some great tunes. Add a bunch of people all doing the same thing plus a few ground rules and you've got Ecstatic Dance!

Community Agreements
The power of Ecstatic Dance for many people is feeling free to move freely and safely in a community without judgement. We have a few agreements to keep the space safe and thoughtful:
- Come sober
- Communicate non-verbally
- Refrain from recording (photo, video, etc)
- Seek clear consent when dancing with others
- Go shoe-less
- Be phone-free
- Be respectful to all members of the community
Is Ecstatic Dance right for me?
Good question! People come to Ecstatic Dance for all kinds of reasons, often with some apprehension. Who are these guys? Is it going to be weird? Am I going to have to do something I don't want to do?
The good news is that you're probably going to be a lot more comfortable once you get here than you are thinking about it. Boise Ecstatic Dance is a well-held container that intentionally does its best to include all kinds of people from all walks of life.
Outside of the agreements above, there is no need to participate in any part of the event. You don't even have to dance! You don't have to stay the whole time, you don't have to talk to anyone. You are free to use the space as works best for you.
We have a lovely community and most people who come once express a desire to return. It would be great to see you there!
